چکیده

Objectives: To conduct a systematic review assessing quantitative enamel loss occurring after orthodontic debonding and clean-up procedures. Materials Methods: A search following the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) statement was performed on different databases (Embase, Medline, Scopus, Web of Science) papers investigating volumetric due to bracket clear aligner attachment and/or Studies in vivo vitro articles published English language until 16 July 2022 were included. The study selection then by two authors who screened abstracts independently. Results: Of 421 abstracts, 41 selected full-text analysis. Finally, nine studies included this review. No retrieved. In investigated caused removal metal brackets (n = 7), ceramic 1), both 1). procedure varied among all investigations. Impressions at baseline debonding/clean-up superimposed, volumes subtracted using 3D digital analysis software. Among studies, ranged from 0.02 ± 0.01 mm3 0.61 0.51 per tooth. Conclusions: Debonding procedures produce loss. that is able cause least volume has yet be identified.

Enamel loss and adhesive remnants following bracket removal and various clean-up procedures in vitro.

This study evaluated the enamel loss and composite remnants after debonding and clean-up. The tested null hypothesis is that there are no differences between different polishing systems regarding removing composite remnants without damaging the tooth surface. Brackets were bonded to 75 extracted human molars and removed after a storage period of 100 hours. The adhesive remnant index (ARI) was e...

Enamel Surface Roughness after Debonding of Orthodontic Brackets and Various Clean-Up Techniques

OBJECTIVE This study aimed to evaluate enamel roughness after adhesive removal using different burs and an Er:YAG laser. MATERIALS AND METHODS The buccal surfaces of forty human premolars were sealed by two layers of nail varnish, except for a circular area of 3 mm in diameter on the middle third. The enamel surfaces were initially subjected to profilometry analysis and four parameters of sur...

Enamel reduction procedures in orthodontic treatment.

Various combinations of enamel reduction procedures can be used to create space between teeth, to correct discrepancies between mandibular and maxillary teeth and to correct morphologic anomalies during orthodontic treatment. In particular, acid-enhanced interproximal enamel reduction significantly reduces surface roughness. This article presents a review of the literature on enamel reduction p...

Three-dimensional quantitative analysis of adhesive remnants and enamel loss resulting from debonding orthodontic molar tubes

AIMS Presenting a new method for direct, quantitative analysis of enamel surface. Measurement of adhesive remnants and enamel loss resulting from debonding molar tubes. MATERIAL AND METHODS Buccal surfaces of fifteen extracted human molars were directly scanned with an optic blue-light 3D scanner to the nearest 2 μm. After 20 s etching molar tubes were bonded and after 24 h storing in 0.9% sa...
